| "There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world, and that is an idea whose time has come." – Victor Hugo |
When he was a research student, Larry Page took up the study of links in World Wide Web and a powerful search engine evolved out of this study. When the first version of Google was made available, it was still in the site of the university he was studying and he was 23 at that time!
When Fred Smith wrote a paper on the logistical challenges facing information technology industry, he was still a student at Yale. In attempting to solve the issues he had identified, he gave to the world FedEx.
Both these cases, among many others, prove that a powerful idea is worth more than huge capital or labour – a significant factor in knowledge economy differentiating it from the old economy.
Best of the ideas came to these entrepreneurs in their prime age. Unconstrained by “practical” difficulties, youth is able to pursue audaciously novel ideas, converting them into profitable business propositions and sometimes changing the lifestyle too. Who could have thought creating a forum for posting trivia – an idea conceived by a set of 20 year old - could become a rage among the youth and turn into a vehicle for marketing products and services?
Whizkidd is a forum for you to share your ideas, explore their potential and who knows how many Bill Gates and Michael Dells are waiting to be identified amongst us? As a professional body, it would be our endeavor to identify such ideas and nurture them.
Let thousand flowers bloom!
