Report on CSI Student chapter Inauguration SCMS School Of Engg. & Tech.Karukutty
18th Feb, 2011 marked the beginning of a new venture for the computer science department of SCMS School of Engineering and technology , as it was the inauguration of CSI student chapter.
The inauguration started at 2.30 p.m. The function was graced with two eminent personalities, Mr Soman S P, chairman CSI Cochin chapter and CEO, skilltech computers ,Kochi and Prof. M V Rajesh HOD , Dept of ECE, Govt Engg college Cherthala. In his welcome speech Prof. P. Reghudas , HOD, Dept of CSE, SSET stressed on the need for students to associate themselves with organizations like Computer Scoiety of India. Prof.M.Madhavan, Director SSET presided over the function and spoke about the increasing opportunities in computer field and the skill set required to acquire them . Then Mr.Soman S P gave the inaugural address. He inspired the students by giving them an insight into the wide range of opportunities. Then he declared the CSI student chapter in SSET inaugurated.
Prof R Sahadevan ,HOD Dept of ECE, SSET addressed the gathering and stressed on the need to make the student chapter an active one. The inaugural function came to an end with a vote of thanks by Ms Deepa K, SBC , CSI student chapter SSET.
There after Prof. M.V.Rajesh delivered a technical talk on Artificial Neural Networks. The talk was enlightening and inspired interest in students.
The program was a huge success and paved way for many such endeavors in future.
