Contribution to IT profession:Developed a software package for  training the mentally retarded children with the help of Neonatal Pediatrician, Psychologist, Educationalist based on Indian Scenarios and Indian Culture

Presently working as Tamilnadu State CSI student coordinator.
• Worked as MC member of the chapter for 3 years, Treasurer, Secretary for 2 years, Vice Chairman and Chairman and one of the instruments to achieve the best Chapter award for Chennai chapter  continuously for 4 years after a gap of 10 years.
• Awarded as Best National Chapter under my term as Chairman
•  Helping colleges to find out the resources for imparting the practical course ware and encouraging the students to exhibit the soft skills, technical skills, coordinating with the colleges in organizing the workshops, seminars etc.
• Before taking up this position, working for the CSI chennai chapter in organizing the monthly meetings, organizing the workshops, seminars etc.
• Attending the CSI conventions with more CSI members and encouraging them.
• Helping CSI to organize the international software competitions for the school students two times.
• Coordinated  the International software conferences and Networking conference
• Visited many colleges apart from inaugurating  many CSI Student Chapters & addressed the students with motivational talks

       STATEMENT OF INTENT  


CSI’s core competence should be in running high quality conferences, Seminars, workshops  in  different  chapters of the society in the Region, supporting professional and academic advancement of members.  

Connecting our chapters, sharing of our expertise should be encouraged amongst the members of the society. The Intelligent and innovative talent of the members need to reach to the budding professionals, students and the society at large in the country in order to continue the  objectives of CSI and also with the concept of CSI for people, by people.

I  had the opportunity of working closely with senior CSI members  while organizing several CSI workshops, seminars and conferences.  I shall use this experience as an ideal platform to reinforce with an open approach   in joining with other professional societies in the country and abroad for achieving the envisaged quality. . We should encourage the use of technologies  at every level.

Computer Education is one area which needs continuous review and special   care. Teachers training and professional training programmes are need of the hour as I am very much interested in uplifting the students.  Programmes related to Finishing school environment,  Technical skills development and Soft skills development  should be encouraged  to facilitate the youngsters to attain  professional goals. 

 Given a chance to serve CSI, as  Regional Vice-President   I shall work  on the above aspects and extend my services to meet the objectives of the Computer Society of India.

Having associated with CSI for more than Two decades , I have the confidence to achieve the goals  as per the Vision and Mission  of CSI.
