Dear Colleagues,

It is not a tragic loss to only his family but entire academia and in particular to CSI. The vacuum created so cannot be filled. We pray to the almighty togive enough strength and courage to his grief-stricken family.

His contributionsin CSI, esp. education, research and publications related have been enormous- his commitment to student’s professional development led to him open a CSI student branch at his institute. Dr. Durgesh Mishra (CSI Indore Chapter Chair) and many such bright students of Dr. Chandwani across India and abroad working in leading organizations are real testimony of his contributions and credentials in academics.

On 7th Feb, Prof. Thrimurthy and I attended the CSI IET student branch inaugural hardly knowing that would be our last happy memory of being with Prof. Chandwani. His ever smiling face, strong-will, dedication and passion to maintain high-quality education and research will forever inspire all of us.

May his soul rest in peace.

I am away from India and just saw this shocker. There are no words to describe the loss of a great soul and the loss of such a stalwart to the society, who has made such strong and useful contributions over the years.

Personally, I am totally grief stricken. Above all, Manohar was a very dear personal friend for almost 3 decades. He had serious ailment from very early days. But his grit and discipline had permitted him to brave all problems. He worked so hard and so smilingly all the time that an onlooker would have never realized that something was amiss. I always thought of him as indestructible. But then, nothing in this mortal world is so.

May God rest his soul in peace.
